Located in the province of Guanacaste, along the north side of Rincon de la Vieja Volcano National Park. Rincon de la Vieja National Park is part of the Guanacaste Conservation Area, a World Heritage Site. The Resort is convenient and yet isolated from the dry hot savannah of Liberia.

Blue River Resort is named after the 2 natural blue rivers that run down the mountain through the rainforest. Eco-tours include visits to gorgeous blue volcanic rivers and waterfalls by horseback, nature walks, volcano hike, zip-lining across waterfalls and much more. One tour available takes visitors on a boat trip along beautiful changing blue waters for snorkeling over the rocky coral, to view the exotic marine wildlife and then relax on a secluded beach for lunch.
