Costa Rica is divided into seven provinces, these are: San José, Alajuela, Heredia, Cartago, Puntarenas, Guanacaste, and Limon. The Spanish Village at Blue River Resort is located in the province Guanacaste.
The province is located in the northwest corner of the country and is renowned for its ecotourism, with the Rincon de la Vieja National Park as it’s gem. Its diverse microclimate produces a wide variety of ecosystems, and is home to approximately 300 bird species. This Costa Rican paradise covers 34,800 acres encompassing active volcanos and dream-like waterfalls amongst cloud and rain forests.
The area has grown considerably over the last few years, and is preparing for another growth spurt. The region boasts new residential developments with advanced services and amenities, all connected by an expansion of the highway between Cañas and Liberia.
With it’s exquisite beaches, micros climates, vast plains, impressive volcanic ranges and combination of dry and rain forests it is no wonder that Guanacaste is one of Costa Rica’s most popular tourist destinations for Americans and Canadians.
